Stability analysis on Tingzikou gravity dam along deep-seated weak planes during earthquake

摘要: The stability of a gravity dam against sliding along deep-seated weak planes is a universal and important problem encountered in the construction of dams. There is no recommended method for stability analysis of the dam on deep-seated weak planes under earthquake condition in Chinese design codes. Taking Tingzikou dam as an example, the research in this paper is focused on searching a proper way to evaluate the seismic safety of the dam against sliding along deep-seated weak planes and the probable failure modes of dam on deep-seated weak planes during earthquake. It is concluded that there are two probable failure modes of the dam along the main weak geological planes in the foundation. In the first mode, the concrete tooth under the dam will be cut and then the dam together with part foundation will slide along the muddy layer; in the second mode, the dam together with part foundation will slide along the path consist of the weak rock layer under the tooth and the muddy layer downstream the tooth. While there is no geological structure planes to form the second slip surface, the intersection of the main and the second slip surface is 40 to 80 m downstream from dam toe, and the angle between the second slip surface and the horizontal plane probably be 25 to 45 degrees.

Analysis of stability and nonlinear response of rotor system with elliptical sliding bearing supports

摘要: Based on the variational constraint approach, the variational form of Reynolds equation in hydrodynamic lubrication is revised continuously to satisfy certain constraints in the cavitation zone of oil film field. According to the physical characteristic of oil film, an eight-node isoparametric finite element method is used to convert the revised variational form of Reynolds equation to a discrete form of finite dimensional algebraic variational equation. By this approach, a perturbance equation can be obtained directly on the finite element equation. Consequently, nonlinear oil film forces and their Jacobian matrices are calculated simultaneously, and compatible accuracy is obtained without increasing the computational costs. A method, which is a combination of predictor corrector mechanism and Newton Raphson method, is presented to calculate equilibrium position and critical speed corresponding to Hopf bifurcation point of bearing-rotor system, as by-product dynamic coefficients of bearing are obtained. The timescale, i.e., the unknown whirling period of Hopf bifurcation solution of bearing-rotor system is drawn into the iterative process using Poincar?Newton Floquet method. The stability of the Hopf bifurcation solution can be detected when estimating Hopf bifurcation solution and its periods. The nonlinear unbalanced periodic responses of the system are obtained by using PNF method and path-following technique. The local stability and bifurcation behaviors of periodic motions are analyzed by Floquet theory. Chaotic motions are analyzed by Lyapunov exponents. The numerical results revealed the rich and complex nonlinear behavior of the system, such as periodic, quasiperiodic, jumped solution, chaos, and coexistence of multisolution, and so on.

基于滑模控制的可拓控制器设计

摘要:

根据滑模控制概念, 提出一种新的可拓控制器。在控制策略设计上分为两个部分,第一个部分是根据系统已知部分设计滑模控制的等效控制, 另一部分为鲁棒控制以解决系统的不确定性因素及外部干扰问题。首先,构造一基本可拓控制器,用所定可拓集的关联函数作为系统状态信息的评价指针, 并在其中植入一组待调增益参数,经参数修正来综合滑模可拓控制的鲁棒控制(滑模的撞击控制),以保证系统的稳定性。最后以一个非线性控制系统的仿真为例来说明所设计的可拓控制器的控制性能。

地基土上水工建筑物的抗滑动稳定研究

摘要:

研究地基土上水工建筑物滑动设计和计算中存在的问题。利用基坑内压板抗滑动试验成果,确定地基土包括回弹影响后的抗滑动承载能力。采用地基土承受偏心荷载的最大压应力σmax控制地基土与压板的位移和抗滑动形式,可以发生不同的3种最大位移面,形成6种抗滑动形式。根据地基土承受的最大压应力,提出设计抗滑动的计算方法:定量确定地基土与压板抗滑动的摩擦系数计算值,地基土的抗滑动安全系数由指标安全系数控制,修正在地基土上建筑物整体滑动的计算公式,计算预测可能发生的多种最大位移面和抗滑动形式及绘制地基土滑动区轮廓,限定地基土发生平面抗滑动形式时承受的最大压应力值。按拟定方法,回顾分析3座已建水工建筑物,分析计算成果符合实物工况。

摘要:

研究地基土上水工建筑物抗滑稳定中存在的问题。利用在基坑内压板抗滑动试验成果,确定地基土回弹影响后的抗滑承载能力降低数值,定量确定地基土抗滑剪应力包线和抗滑摩擦系数;提出采用地基土承受偏心荷载的最大压应力σmax预测建筑物位移、滑动和地基土蠕变滑动的设计方法;确定地基土蠕变滑动轮廓;限定地基土的最大压应力等。按拟定方法回顾计算两座已建水工建筑物,成果符合实物工况。

Robust SVM-direct torque control of induction motor based on sliding mode controller and sliding mode

摘要: This paper proposes a design of control and estimation strategy for induction motor based on the variable structure approach. It describes a coupling of sliding mode direct torque control (DTC) with sliding mode flux and speed observer. This algorithm uses direct torque control basics and the sliding mode approach. A robust electromagnetic torque and flux controllers are designed to overcome the conventional SVM-DTC drawbacks and to ensure fast response and full reference tracking with desired dynamic behavior and low ripple level. The sliding mode controller is used to generate reference voltages in stationary frame and give them to the controlled motor after modulation by a space vector modulation (SVM) inverter. The second aim of this paper is to design a sliding mode speed/flux observer which can improve the control performances by using a sensorless algorithm to get an accurate estimation, and consequently, increase the reliability of the system and decrease the cost of using sensors. The effectiveness of the whole composed control algorithm is investigated in different robustness tests with simulation using Matlab/Simulink and verified by real time experimental implementation based on dS pace 1104 board.

An adaptive sliding mode control technology for weld seam tracking

摘要:

A novel adaptive sliding mode control algorithm is derived to deal with seam tracking control problem of welding robotic manipulator, during the process of large-scale structure component welding. The proposed algorithm does not require the precise dynamic model, and is more practical. Its robustness is verified by the Lyapunov stability theory. The analytical results show that the proposed algorithm enables better high-precision tracking performance with chattering-free than traditional sliding mode control algorithm under various disturbances.

Finite element modeling of cable sliding and its effect on dynamic response of cable-supported truss

摘要: The cable system of cable-supported structures usually bears high tension forces, and clip joints may fail to resist cable sliding in cases of earthquake excitations or sudden cable breaks. A analytical method that considers the dynamic cable sliding effect is proposed in this paper. Cable sliding behaviors and the resultant dynamic responses are solved by combining the vector form intrinsic finite element framework with cable force redistribution calculations that consider joint frictions. The cable sliding effect and the frictional tension loss are solved with the original length method that uses cable length and the original length relations. Then, the balanced tension distributions are calculated after frictional sliding. The proposed analytical method is achieved within MATLAB and applied to simulate the dynamic response of a cable-supported plane truss under seismic excitation and sudden cable break. During seismic excitations, the cable sliding behavior in the cable-supported truss have an averaging effect on the oscillation magnitudes, but it also magnifies the internal force response in the upper truss structure. The slidable cable joints can greatly reduce the ability of a cable system to resist sudden cable breaks, while strong friction resistances at the cable-strut joints can help retain internal forces.

摘要: A dynamical sliding-mode controller is devised to track the output of mobile manipulators. During the investigation, firstly a reduced dynamic model considering the dynamics of the driving motor is developed for mobile manipulators. Then, the system is decomposed into four lower-dimensional subsystems by means of diffeomorphism and nonlinear input transformation. Moreover, a design method of the dynamical sliding-mode controller that is applied to the output tracking of mobile manipulators is proposed. The simulation results indicate that the dynamical sliding-mode controller can not only track the given trajectory correctly but also reduce the chattering of sliding-mode control system considerably.

摘要: This paper proposes an indirect power control of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) with the rotor connected to the electric grid through a back-to-back pulse width modulation (PWM) converter for variable speed wind power generation. Appropriate state space model of the DFIG is deduced. An original control strategy based on a variable structure control theory, also called sliding mode control, is applied to achieve the control of the active and reactive power exchanged between the stator of the DFIG and the grid. A proportional-integral-(PI) controller is used to keep the DC-link voltage constant for a back-to-back PWM converter. Simulations are conducted for validation of the digital controller operation using Matlab/Simulink software.

摘要: This study proposes a gained switching-based discrete-time sliding mode control method to address the chattering issue in disturbed discrete-time systems, which suffer from various unknown uncertainties. Through the new structure of the designed reaching law, the proposed method can effectively increase the convergence speed while guaranteeing chattering-free control. The performance of controlling underactuated robotic systems can be further improved by the adoption of fuzzy logic to perform adaptive online hyper-parameter tuning. In addition, an underactuated robotic system with uncertainties is studied to validate the effectiveness of the proposed reaching law. Results reveal the dynamic performance and robustness of the proposed reaching law in the studied system and prove the proposed method’s superiority over other state-of-the-art methods.

Anisotropy of multi-layered structure with sliding and bonded interlayer conditions

摘要: A better understanding of the mechanical behavior of the multi-layered structure under external loading is the most important item for the structural design and the risk assessment. The objective of this study are to propose and develop an analytical solution for the mechanical behaviors of multi-layered structure generated by axisymmetric loading, and to investigate the impact of anisotropic layers and interlayer conditions on the multi-layered structure. To reach these objectives, first, according to the governing equations, the analytical solution for a single layer was formulated by adopting the spatial Hankel transform. Then the global matrix technique is applied to achieve the analytical solution of multi-layered structure in Hankel domain. The sliding and bonded interlayer conditions were considered in this process. Finally, the numerical inversion of integral transform was used to solve the components of displacement and stress in real domain. Gauss-Legendre quadrature is a key scheme in the numerical inversion process. Moreover, following by the verification of the proposed analytical solution, one typical three-layered flexible pavement was applied as the computing carrier of numerical analysis for the multi-layered structure. The results have shown that the anisotropic layers and the interlayer conditions significantly affect the mechanical behaviors of the proposed structure.

Analysis of foundation sliding of an arch dam considering the hydromechanical behavior

摘要: This paper presents the application of a methodology which can be used to assess arch dam foundation stability, using the discrete element method (DEM) and the code 3DEC. A global three-dimensional model of a dam foundation was developed, in which some discontinuities were simulated and both the grout and drainage curtains were represented. The model, calibrated taking into account recorded data, was used to carry out nonlinear mechanical analysis. The same model was employed to perform a hydraulic analysis, based on equivalent continuum concepts, which allowed the water pressure pattern within the foundation to be obtained. These water pressures were applied on discontinuities involved in the possible sliding mechanism along the dam/foundation interface, and the safety of the dam/foundation system was evaluated using a process of reduction of strength characteristics, with the aim of calculating the minimum safety factors that ensure stability. Results were compared with those obtained with the usual bi-linear uplift pressure distribution at the base of the dam, commonly used in concrete dam design. The relevance of carrying out hydraulic analysis in arch dam foundation failure studies is highlighted.
